Australia is the backdrop of our road movie, which we shot with forty Microsoft customers. The premise was clear - we're bypassing obvious attractions such as the Sydney Opera House, Ayers Rock and Melbourne and biting into the truly wild wilderness of Western Australia before relaxing on its east coast.
The adventure began in Perth, where a convoy of eight Toyota Land Cruisers was formed. The very process of forming five-person teams travelling together in one vehicle was exhilarating and exciting. We gave the crews complete freedom - everyone could drive and the teams chose their own drivers for the next sections of the road. We equipped all cars with roadbooks and radios. The participants' task was to reach the assembly points on time. They had to cope with left-hand traffic, map reading and fuel and water supplies, which can sometimes be a challenge in the Australian wilderness.
