Terra Aventura

Australia is the backdrop of our road movie, which we shot with forty Microsoft customers. The premise was clear - we're bypassing obvious attractions such as the Sydney Opera House, Ayers Rock and Melbourne and biting into the truly wild wilderness of Western Australia before relaxing on its east coast.

The adventure began in Perth, where a convoy of eight Toyota Land Cruisers was formed. The very process of forming five-person teams travelling together in one vehicle was exhilarating and exciting. We gave the crews complete freedom - everyone could drive and the teams chose their own drivers for the next sections of the road. We equipped all cars with roadbooks and radios. The participants' task was to reach the assembly points on time. They had to cope with left-hand traffic, map reading and fuel and water supplies, which can sometimes be a challenge in the Australian wilderness.

There were warnings from the Australian police, punctured tyres and wandering in unfamiliar terrain. However, this was all part of the scenario.

We travelled a total of three thousand kilometres. As befits the film genre, each of the characters woke up each day richer with new experiences, memories and emotions. Not only were long routes and off-road challenges embedded in their memories, but also diving in the company of whale sharks or dolphins and dinners prepared on snow-white almost sandy beaches on the ocean shore. There were days when the convoy was accompanied only by kangaroos and ostrich emu or by passing road trains, i.e. huge trucks pulling several trailers each.

The second part of the trip was the reward for all these hardships. We opted for relaxation - a sailing boat cruise, snorkelling over one of the most famous coral reefs, an overnight stay in an elegant resort and additional culinary delights. By this stage, the 40-strong team that had tackled the previous challenges together were already a group of friends. And had the opportunity to celebrate and have fun.
